We saw a documentary directed by Michael Mayhew about the Holocaust. The film shows some of the survivors who only survived because of a certain man, named Schindler.
He was a successful man, who was only trying to make a lot of money at first, but somehow saved the lives of a lot of Jews taking them out of the labor camps to work in his factory.
In the documentary, some Jews who fortunally survived, tells how was life back in that horrible time of the World War II, and especially how did they get saved, with the lies Schindler use to tell to the Nazi Commandants, such as that the Jews were “essential workers” and so they should keep working in the factory.
One of the Jews in the documentary is Helen Hirsh. She was token really young to work for Göeth, a Nazi official, as a housekeeper. But since she was a Jew, she was very bad treating by him. It’s very interesting because in Helen's Interview, you can notice how though she is now, considering all she that she must have been trough.
A old couple of survivors, also share their story in the documentary. After the Holocaust they got together, and still together both of them give a huge value to the fact that they survived, they appreciate life!
All the Jews in the documentary tell how awful was the life for those who went from the dirty ghettos they were forced to live, to the concentration camps.
According to theses Jews, it was very hard to keep standing, when everyone around you was dying and getting weaker everyday.
For being able to help those people, Schindler is considered a good man, and a lot of people own their lives for him.
